Six Rules

The rules are the campaign.

They are non-negotiable and publicly stated from day one. They are what make the ribbon mean something. Anyone who breaks them is no longer part of Ask Me In.

  1. 01

    You cannot buy a ribbon.

They are not for sale. Ever. The ribbon has no monetary value — only the meaning of being chosen.

  2. 02

    You cannot request a ribbon.

You can only receive one. Asking for it disqualifies the gesture. Wait to be chosen.

  3. 03

Each person gives only one ribbon.

The choice of who matters. Scarcity is the point. One ribbon is one decision.

  4. 04

You must give it in person.

No mailing. No leaving it on a desk. Hand to hand. The transaction is the moment.

  5. 05

    You must know the person.

Not a celebrity you admire. Someone in your actual life. Someone who will recognise the weight.

  6. 06

    The conversation happens privately first.

Before any public posting. The receiver decides — alone — whether to say yes.
